My Version of Anthropologie Inspired Necklace
She's my first run at the necklace and am in the process of doing more. My husby is also working on his photog skills, he reads enough People and US weekly to know what a good pic is! (just a little side note, I did the tutorial using a different material...so black above- turquoise below. It's not you, it's me.)
Anyway, excuse my photog skills as well. Not so easy to stay focused on the project AND take pics! So first ya need some material that you like, love, or just want to get rid of for practicing.
I tried to follow the tutorial from Little Miss Momma as best as possible, I however got very impatient and didn't cut my circles very accurately and ended up with uneven flowers/pom poms for the necklaces. My response to my husby's accurate eye, "No flower is perfect or the same shape"!! (This is where the different color material comes in ladies, I couldn't stand that he was right)
Materials Needed:
Felt, approximately 1 sq foot
Cotton fabric in the color of your choice
Fabric scissors
Necklace chain, pearls, whatever you have and don't use anymore would be great!
Hot glue gun
First cut 5 small 1.5" felt circles
I'll admit, patience I lack but accuracy I desire. So i along with this tutorial, I cut my felt circles correctly and accurately! I grabbed my vitamins and traced the lid which was 1.5", cut those out and life seemed a little sweeter afterwards!
After smelling the sweet fragrance of success, use the felt circles as a template for your fabric circles. Cut fabric circles, cut A LOT of fabric circles.
Next, scrunch up your fabric circle, add a dot of glue to the bottom of it and attach her to the felt circle.
Repeat, repeat, then repeat again until your felt circle is nice a pretty. I used approximately 12 fabric circles per felt circle! No, I didn't have any intentions of actually being that precise! My lovely, very smart, and eager to learn friend asked me as I was making the first pom pom how many pieces of fabric per felt circle. ???? So here's to you and the rest of the accuracy bureau....Twelve little bitties per felt circle. It could be more or less depending on the day, weather, how fast you want to get the project done!
Glue ends of chain about an inch down onto the top two pom poms.
Then just glue those girls onto the felt with the others. Cut around to where you don't see any of the felt backing and TA-DA!!! Ya got yourself a pretty pom pom necklace!!
Embellish however your heart fancies, or don't do anything else to it! They look glamorous regardless. Make one in every color. Use chains, beads, pearls! Have your friends over, and their friends, or just your closest, sweetest, most favorite friend, and make lots! No matter where you're going or what you're doing, be it date night with Mr. One and Only or date night with Mr. Clean, this hot number's going to make ya shake your pom poms!!! (And by pom poms, I mean the pom poms above of course)
Hope I did this little how-to justice!!!
Good night fancy ladies xoxo

SCRUNCHY! (Please only do this to things like crafts and not your socks!!)
After you have made five gorgeous little pom poms, you will need to dig out the rest of your felt that we started with. Arrange your little beauties on the felt however your heart desires.
Glue them down, EXCEPT FOR THE TOP TWO!
Then just glue those girls onto the felt with the others. Cut around to where you don't see any of the felt backing and TA-DA!!! Ya got yourself a pretty pom pom necklace!!

I'll Miss You Girl
Yes, it is January 3rd and I'm wiping tears away as I put up the last of my Christmas decor. What a fast holiday it was. I enjoyed every last bite of it though, ask my rear.
I have so many projects on the horizon! I can't wait to share, my only resolution was to be a better blogger and to share more because really~sharing is caring!!
No seriously, my resolution was to be a better teacher so that I may also teach how to make anything and everything that pops into my random head that all my friends seem to love. Which hopefully they really love it and I'm not friends with a bunch of Oscar winners!
So I'm going to try and rock this party and be better at this new world. Tomorrow, a project!

30...Friend or Foe?
So today was the day, well technically yesterday was the day, but I don't really need to be technical do I? I mean, I am still allowed a tiny bit of slack for just a bit longer. Right??! Ahhhhh, well, the day...
Blessed with so many people that love me inspite of my crazy ways, my day wasn't so ordinary. My children locked me in my room however and told me not to come out! No matter what! I should have left my room after 2 hours of lock down, buuuuuut I didn't! How could I do that to my poor children?! That would have been just plain heartless...and productive I'm sure. I didn't crush their happiness and we all won! They made me a cake, some cupcakes, and poured mommy a glass of wine for lunch! How perfect are they?! Love them!!
I'm not a liar, so I cannot lie and say I didn't have several breakdowns throughout the day. I mean mini breakdowns, I kept somewhat busy. I could feel a big, ugly, mascara running, nose running breakdown coming by early evening though! Aaaaannnnnddd, she came! My nearly perfect Husby triggered it. He came home, set up the dining room table as follows; pizza from one of our old speed dial favorites from when we first got married. Coca cola, chocolate cheesecake, Cupcake wine, a new bottle of perfume, and a big girl paint sprayer!! Oh and of course, a ridiculously sweet card. Talk about water works, and a DELISH dinner! Husby always, always comes through. He knew my day was hard, harder, hardest.
So at the end of my day, I was reminded why it doesn't matter what my age is as long as I can remember who makes my days the most special. So rock on Husby and Children of Mine, you guys make everyday a party.

My Last Week In My Twenties!
On Thursday, December 30th, I will be entering into my thirties!!! I will say this, since I was old enough to care I've been waiting for this day because it is my "Golden Birthday", 30 on the 30th. As the day gets closer and closer, I become more and more anxious! I do realize that it is just an age, it really doesn't make me who I am or define me, however, it is still freaking me out! I'm hoping anyone out there may relate and tell me that I'm completely normal. There's just so much running through my, already busy, mind! Such as what have I accomplished up until now? What do I want to accomplish in the next chapter of my life? Have I been a good mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter? How could I be a better person? SEE WHAT I MEAN??!!! I mean seriously! That is just too much for one mind to handle along with my "everyday load"! So I decided to post a list of things I know for sure so that I will quit pondering the unknown!
THINGS I KNOW "FO SHO
THINGS I KNOW "FO SHO
- I FIND A NEW REASON TO FALL IN LOVE W/ MY HUSBAND EVERY DAY.
- I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO REMIND MYSELF OF WHY IT IS I LOVE HIM EVERY TIME I FIND ONE OF HIS ROLLED UP DIRTY SOCKS ON THE FLOOR.
- I KNOW MY HUSBY LOVES ME JUST THE SAME.
- MY CHILDREN HAVE SHOWN ME WHAT UNCONDITIONAL LOVE REALLY MEANS.
- I HAVE A STRONG DESIRE TO LEARN AND LOVE DOING SO.
- I CANNOT GO THROUGH AN ENTIRE DAY W/OUT DOING SOMETHING CREATIVE.
- I HAVE MADE SUCH AN AMAZING FAMILY OUT OF PEOPLE THAT DON'T SHARE A SINGLE GENE WITH ME. MY FRIENDS ARE THE MOST WONDERFUL, SUPPORTIVE CREW A GIRL COULD ASK FOR.
- I HAVE LEARNED THAT SLOWING DOWN AND STEPPING BACK IS HOW I HAVE BECOME MORE WHOLE.
- THROUGH THAT, I'VE FOUND THAT THE SEARCH FOR PERFECTION IS A WASTE OF TIME, BECOMING WHOLE HAS MADE IT ALL WORTHWHILE.
- LIVING SIMPLE HAS MADE OUR HOME SO FULL OF BLESSINGS.
- TURNING 30 IS GOING TO ROCK!!!
